    Is the "how" necessary?

    Hi,

I wrote the following paragraph, I wonder if the "how" is necessary:

I am listening to a song popular these days that is from a TV show in China. The show is mainly about how a young man who keeps his desire for vengeance in check but finally avenges his father's death by going after his murderers.

    I think it's optional, am I right?

    Thanks a lot

    No. "How" is incorrect there.

I think 'how' would be correct if 'who' was omitted.
    I am not a teacher.
