Earlier in life, as a young man I was trodden with many a personal problems. Some of which, rooted back to my troubled childhood. Even though, the list was arduously long, the ones causing the worst setbacks were the lack of self-confidence and self-inflicted phobias.

Any errors ?

"Earlier in life, as a young man" = redundant Is there any way you could be a young man late in life? Is there any way you could be an old man early in life? Of course not.

You should do some research on the use of commas. You have too many.

Which one sounds better?

Read post #3 again. Tdol already changed "I was trodden with ...".

... partly because ‘trodden with‘ just doesn‘t exist. (There is an informal idiom - ‘trodden on‘. But this refer to a particular idea; for example ‘My proposal was trodden on.‘)
