    "All you did was to do something" or "all you did was do something"?

    Do we say "all you did was duplicate my effort" or "all you did was TO duplicate my effort"?

    Omit the 'to'.

    I agree with Roman's response - we do not use the to- infinitive with auxiliary DO.

    Having said that, you will find that some people do use it with the 'All I/he/did was ...'.

    BTW, would you feel negative or unfriendly if someone said those words to you? "All you did was duplicate my effort."
