"The computer is geting repaired by Peter"

It's about an exercise active vs. passive.

The active sentence is "Peter is repairing the computer".
The passive voice would normally be "The computer is being repaired by Peter".
The question is whether you can replace "being" with "getting".
It sounds a bit colloquial but the question is if it is grammatically correct.

The same applies to the following sentence:

"Mr Brown will call you tomorrow" --> passive should be "You will be called by Mr Brown tomorrow".
Here again the question wheter "You will get called...." is simply colloquial or grammatically wrong.
    Thanks in advance.

Re: "The computer is geting repaired by Peter"

"Getting repaired" is not as natural as "being repaired". In fact, I'm sure some will say it's wrong.

"You will be getting called" is definitely not natural. Use either "You will be called by ..." or "You will be getting a [phone] call from ...".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: "The computer is geting repaired by Peter"

In fact, it sounds weird to me too.
By the way, we all mispell sometime
You said "You will be getting called" but I didn't say it, so you quoted me wrongly .
Anyway, I wouldn't say that "get" instead of "be" in the passive form is always wrong.
Sometimes it might even provide the sentence with a slight difference nuance.
For example, If I say "His cat was run over by a car" vs "His cat got run over by a car", I perceive a slight difference in the meaning [Or do you normally say in meaning?]. Am I wrong?
If I am not wrong then I would question whether "my car is getting repaired" instead of "is being repaird" is wrong.

Re: "The computer is geting repaired by Peter"

I don't perceive any difference in meaning.
"My car is getting repaired" is not at all natural. We wouldn't say that.

'My car is getting repaired' is common in AusE - possibly substandard.

"Is getting repaired" is OK in AmE.

Re: "The computer is geting repaired by Peter"

It's not wrong in BrE, but it is not the natural choice.
