    unsex

    Would it work to use the verb "to unsex" to mean that something loses interesting or appealing qualities as in "What you said unsexes the whole situation."?

    That's not a common word at all. In fact, I couldn't even find it on the Cambridge Dictionary website.
    To answer your question: I don't think so.
