grammar the use of the preposition on

    Hi, teachers
Please check if the next sentence is okay.

I wrote it in order to urge parents to pay a compliment to their children on making efforts to achieve tasks.

    Thanks in advance.

    Say:

Please compliment your kids for trying. Tell them you appreciate the effort.

(You can thank me with "Thanks" or "Likes".)

Re: grammar the use of the preposition on

I wrote to parents, urging them to compliment their kids whenever they try to achieve something.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

It's correct, but very unnatural in that sentence. It's not often used that way in speaking.
"Please wipe feet on entering." (sign); "The warning lights will dim on starting the engine." (leaflet).
