    Push/Pushing

    Dear teachers

Just wondering if "push" or "pushing" should be used in the following sentence. Or both are correct?

As the Hong Kong dollar is pegged to the US dollar, the local unit has strengthened along with the greenback, push/pushing up the costs for those moving to the city from overseas.

    Please advise

    Cheers

    Holden

    Re: Push/Pushing

I would use 'pushing' because a participial phrase works there.
    I am not a teacher.

    Re: Push/Pushing

You could use either "pushing" or "and has pushed".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
