Do you think the verb to instruct (meaning: To give orders to; direct) implies that the instructions were followed, i.e. that the person who was instructed to do something actually did that?
I have a text where I need to clearly state whether the person did what he/she was asked to. In the sentences where I use told, asked, I use a "tail":
She was asked to enter the number into the xx field; she complied.
or
She was told to enter the number into the xx field which she did.
Should I use the same "tails" for a sentence including instructed?
