    Trainee - Commis

Is there any difference between Trainee and Commis? Examples: cook trainee / commis de cuisine.

    Re: Trainee - Commis

A commis chef is a junior chef.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

    Re: Trainee - Commis

If you used "Commis" in everyday situations, no one would know what you meant.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
