Please check my synthesis.

The sun rose. The birds began to fly.
a) The birds began to fly at sunrise.
b) When the sun rose, the birds began to fly.
c) The sun rose and the birds began to fly.

The sun rose. The birds flew. The birds flew across the sky. The sun rose in the east, and the birds took flight, greeting the dawn with their calls.

I had to look up 'synthesis', Untaught, but I'd say your sentences are spot on.
