    It's a correct sentence but may not be correct in context. If you want to tell someone that nothing happens when you click a link, you should say "The video doesn't open."

    Is it Tarheel? What does it mean?

    Does it mean 'I've put the video tape in the player and pressed 'play' but it won't start?

    I don't see any practical difference between the simple and progressive tenses in this context. I'm just as likely to use one over the other when trying to get a file to play or a link to open.

    I thought the OP was asking if the sentence is grammatically correct. Without context I couldn't possibly decide on its appropriateness.
