Hi,

Is "Just chew the bubble gum and then spit it out" correct?

Bubblegum is one word, but other than that it's grammatical.

A: Sir, what should I do now?
B: Just chew the bubblegum and spit it out.

Hmm. I can't think of a context in which "Just chew the bubblegum..." might be used.

This is a pet peeve, and obviously not a grammatical issue, but please don't tell kids to spit their gum out on the floor/sidewalk, etc. Tell them to put it in the trash.

Just spitting it out randomly is almost as bad as sticking it under the desk/table/chair, etc.

It's partially a cultural issue, and partly a social awareness issue. :bad-word:

Why would you be advising them to chew it first? And, worse, to spit it out. I don't get the reasoning behind the advice. I would, at least, suggest that they dispose of it in a less antisocial manner.

I suspect the OP is trying to say that bubblegum shouldn't be swallowed. If so, then one can say to a child:
"Just chew the bubblegum; don't swallow it."
