Hi,

I'm preparing a letter for my manager which confirms my list of job duties,

I don't know how to start the letter. It's for immigration purposes. I would be thankful if you could give me a tip. thanks.

What I tried :

"
To Whom It May Concern:
This letter serves as a List of Duties for John Smith, who has been a full-time employee of MS, inc. (“MS.com”) since October 1, 2015.

<list of duties>
"

I want to put the following (not exactly the same words , but the same meaning) somewhere in the letter, but I don't know where :

My name is .... and I'm John Smith's manager.

thanks

What is the job?

To Whom It May Concern

This is to confirm that Mr John Smith has been employed as a (job designation?) by xxx since 1 Oct 2015.
His job duties are as follows:

1.
2.

Yours faithfully,
(John Smith's manager)

Well, I think the letter writer should identify himself as John Smith's manager before the signature.

Presumably, the letter would be printed on the company's letterhead.

The letterhead may not list every manager and probably wouldn't list who managed whom.

It is understood that the person who signs the letter has jurisdiction over the subject staff.

Is it customary for the writer of an official testimonial to introduce himself/herself and the company hierarchy?
I think the name and designation of the writer in the letter would suffice especially for the purpose of dealing with an authority.

You should take nothing for granted. In other words, avoid misunderstandings by making things perfectly clear.
