    like yesterday

    Hi,

I'd like to ask if it is OK to say, 'I remember it like yesterday' instead of 'I remember it like it (had) happened yesterday.

    Thanks.

I believe that form is used.

    Re: like yesterday

"I remember it like it happened yesterday" is probably more common.

    Re: like yesterday

Is it possible to say I remember it as if it were yesterday? I happened to come across the idiom in reading a book the other day, but it was written cca. 1910 so I am not sure if it does not sound dated today.

    Re: like yesterday

    You could say:

I remember it as if it were happening right now.

That means that your memory of the event is quite vivid.

The other one seems to me at best improbable.
