    past bearing

    Hi!
What is the exact meaning of the bold idiom?
The summer heat of this Island (Hormuz in Persian Gulf) is almost past bearing.
    Thanks very much.

    Re: past bearing

It's almost too much to bear.

    Re: past bearing

I would not call "past bearing" an idiom.

    Re: past bearing

Also, do not say "bold idiom" as that makes it seem that you are describing the phrase. Instead, say "words in bold".

    Re: past bearing

    Where is the sentence from?
It is common to say "the heat is unbearable".
    I am not a teacher.
