    My body is like a

    Hi,

    Please point out my mistakes.
My body is like a rubber. I love moving it. Sometimes I'm on the ground and sometimes I'm in the air. If you try to catch me when I'm on the ground, I'll fly up. If you try to catch me when I'm in the air, I'll land on the ground.

Your body is like rubber, not "a rubber".

I think ''rubber'' is both a noun and an adjective. Can't I use here as a noun?

I think 'rubber' is an uncountable noun in 'Your body is like rubber'.

In AmE, "a rubber" is a condom. In BrE it's a pencil eraser. Neither item is suitable for your simile.

'Simime' is a typo - GoesStation meant to type 'simile'.

A simile is a literary term for a direct comparison using 'like' or 'as'. You attempted simile was "My body is like rubber."

@Goes, If "rubber" is not suitable, what should I use then?

Nobody said you couldn't use the word "rubber". It's "a rubber" that doesn't work there. The word "rubber" is just fine.

Re: My body is like a

As others have suggested, "My body is like rubber" is fine. "My body is like a rubber" would provoke amusement in Americans. This is one of those cases where omitting one single-letter word makes all the difference.

"Rubber" by itself is the flexible material which is used to make pencil erasers, among other things.
