    started to get worried / started getting worried

    Please advise which should be correct as an appropriate choice. If both of them are applicable, then what is the different between them? Thanks.

    I started _____ that he might be in danger.

    1) to get worried
    2) getting worried

    They are both possible. I find 1) more natural. It's "what is the difference", not "different".
