    declare (to) us that

    Hello,

    http://www.macmillandictionary.com/d...ritish/declare

declare: to say something, especially in a formal or impressive way.

declare that: Brady declared that he had no intention of giving up the fight.

I'd like to ask if we can put 'to us' after the word 'declare' in the above sentence: Brady declared to us that he had no intention of giving up the fight.

I think that 'to us' is OK but, without 'to', the sentence is wrong.

    Thanks.

Yes, you could add "to us". Not just 'us'.
