By "IT" I assume you mean Instructional Technology. I use iPads when possible (shared with the whole school) and I allow students to utilize their own smart phone devices, tablets, and laptops (some have them) during interactive lessons using tools like Kahoot!, Quizizz, and GoFormative.com.
I've also utilized QR codes around the room or in the hallway for "scavenger hunts" or "choose your own adventure" type of learning scenarios. Students use their smart device or iPad to scan the QR code, which directs them to the required resource that they must utilize on their device to answer a prompt or question of some sort.
