Without some context, your question is impossible to answer.

    Re: organizational structure

    Hello Mike,

let's say we have a big organization containing many (sport) clubs. These clubs are geographically organized to groups for administrative purpose. I am looking for right names for the organization levels.

    Re: organizational structure

I'd put the hierarchy the other way - the highest at the top.

    International <sport> Association/Organization
    National "
    State "
    City "
    Local <sport> Club

I'm not a sports lover. Why not check how some other sports are organized. eg.FIFA, FINA, IOC, etc.

    Re: organizational structure

You can have "districts" and "regions" as subsets of a large organization. You could be organized by states as well.

So maybe there are several districts in each state, and several states together create a region. All the regions make up the entire organization.

    "Sub-regions" are also possible.
