    some rephrased sentences regarding Parallel structure

    Hello,

    I want to know how many of the following sentences are correct.


    1) She not only wants to take a trip to Europe but also to take a trip to Asia.

    2) She wants not only to take a trip to Europe but also to take a trip to Asia.

    3) She wants to take a trip not only to Europe but also to Asia.

    4) She wants not only to take a trip to Europe but also to Asia.

    5) She not only wants to take a trip to Europe but also to Asia.

    They are all grammatically correct.

    I'd use #5.

    I'd use #3. I would definitely not use #4 or #5, but I am old-fashioned about where I put (not) only.

    So #3 is old-fashioned and #4 and #5 are modern? Can we say that #3 is more formal?

    Another question which I'm eager to know it is about adding a different verb after but also. See the below example:

    She not only wants to take a trip to Europe but also likes to travel to Asia.

    Is it wrong? (I think the answer is yes) but if it is, how can I keep the second part of the above sentence (I mean= Likes to travel) along with "but also?"
