What does "To be on excellent terms with yourself" means?

Does that means that the person thinks highly of himself?

Thanks,

No, that's not how I would interpret that unusual expression.

Where did you find that text?

[h=1]A BRAVE BOY'S FIGHT FOR FORTUNE

Squire Walsingham was a tall, portly man of fifty, sleek and evidently on excellent terms with himself.

The author is trying to give the impression of a happy and (perhaps overly) confident man.
