Let's pretend that we hear a baby crying. It's been crying for a long time and we're trying to concentrate on something but it's literally impossible because the baby is distracting us. :-D
Is it all right to say:
1) I wish the baby would stop crying
2) I wish the baby wouldn't cry
3) I wish the baby wouldn't be crying right now
I'm pretty sure the first one is idiomatic but what about the other variants? Which one is correct?
