    strident barking of

    Hmmm ‘is-this-a-gerund’ question again

The strident barking of Mandy’s dog drove me up the wall.

Is ‘ barking’ a gerund in this sentence? I think it is but am unsure.

    Thank you for teaching me!

    Re: strident barking of

    The ___ of Mandy's dog...

The blank has to be a noun so it is a gerund.
