    Question Viewpoint vs. standpoint

Hi. What is the difference between “standpoint” and “viewpoint”?
    Thanks,

A 'standpoint' is a firm position. A 'viewpoint' is an opinion.

Yes; you "make a stand" at a standpoint; you "take a view" at a viewpoint.

Thanks. Just to be sure: so in 'standpoint' I am sure about something being true (so I state this) whereas in 'viewpoint' I present my opinion (so I rather claim this). Is it more or less right?

    Thanks,
