    John was a skilful

Would you please help me with my sentences, and correct my mistakes? I am not sure if they are correct.

    1. John was a skilful chess player, and so was his son Peter.
    2. The UK and the US have decided to reform their educational system, and so has France.
    3. Bob had moved out of a dilapidated house, and so did his neighbours.
