    Adjective "valuable"

I am wondering if I could use "valuable" in my sentences. Would you correct my mistakes?

    1. Some people say that you are valuable to the state only if you work hard and pay your tax.
    2. Peter felt he was valuable to his girlfriend only as long as he invited her to restaurants and bought her clothes.

    Re: Adjective "valuable"

They're both OK. In the second, I would say "... as long as he took her to restaurants". Simply inviting her doesn't make him particularly valuable/useful - she could say no!
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

For the first sentence, I would say "pay your taxes".
