Student or Learner
Good night Teachers
I have this question about the articles. Can you help me? Thanks
Article usage is very complex and cannot be reduced to a few rules. Many learners find it takes years to work out all the nuances.
I have read - and I agree - that the natural use of articles is the last thing to fall in place for your writing to be considered "native-like."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
Tricky little devils. They really give the ESL students a hard time.
"Words don't mean; people mean."
They give teachers trying to explain them a hard time.
Note that "good night" is a way of saying "goodbye." Use "good evening" (or just a simple "Hello") instead.
It's only evening in certain time zones. This is a global forum.
We don't even need 'Hello'. Just go ahead and ask your question.
