so that the crew will be aware not to be

    Hello all users!

The ship fore and aft parts must highlight the snap back zone with signalling paints so that the crew will be aware not to be on that painted mark when the ropes are under tension.

In my opinion, "so that the crew will be aware not to be" means the same as "so that the crew will/can avoid being".

What is your opinion on that?

    Thank you.

Re: so that the crew will be aware not to be

Your amendment is OK. However, the ship can't highlight its own parts.

"The snap back zone of the ship's fore and aft parts must be highlighted with signalling paints ..."

Maybe "the ship's fore and aft parts" isn't the most correct way to refer to this. I'm not a boatie.
