- Is the sentence correct?Can the verbal phrase "clear up" collocate with the subject "cloud SYSTEM"? What dose "the cloud system" mean?

1 I wouldn't use clear up here. You could say that the cloud system will move away. Cloud system is the clouds that are bringing the bad weather.

2 1 & 2 are OK to me- I wouldn't use the others.

All those under 2. are common and correct in AmE, although they might be accused of being tautological. "It cleared up" is identical to "the clouds went away."
