    Weak verb = regular verb ?

    Hi,

    Is Weak Verb another name of Regular Verb?

    Talk talked talked = Weak/regular verb

    Is Strong Verb another name of Irregular Verb?

    Forget forgot forgotten = Strong/irregular verb

    'Weak' and 'strong' are rather dated terms for what we now tend to call 'regular and 'irregular' verbs. These terms are still used of German verbs.

    But the short answer's NO. I like Mark Twain's explanation:

    They take part of a verb and put it down here, like a stake, and they take the other part of it and put it away over yonder like another stake, and between these two limits they just shovel in German.
