"Men can lift double the weight as heavy as their own weight".

Is it correct?

Men can lift weight double their own. (Some men maybe, not all surely).

Apart from this rather unlikely (Olympian?) sense, there are two other possible meanings that the OP could be aiming at:

Men can lift twice their son's weight. (This rather depends on the age of the son. I stopped being able to lift twice my son's weight about 30 years ago. :))

Men can lift twice as much as their sons can. (Again, this is dependent on lots of unstated factors.)

I think "osn" was a typo for "own", rather than having anything to do with "son".

"Men can lift double the weight as heavy as their osn weight".

Is it correct?

No, it isn't. The word osn makes it unclear to boot. Take the correction that best suits your meaning, depending on whether you meant own or son and stick with that. This sentence is such a mess that it is beyond repair.

Perhaps tufguy could revisit the thread and let us know if he means "own."

A Thank or Like from tufguy in response to any of the above would be something of a novelty.

There is a good chance I would fall off my chair if that happens!

I'm not sure what the forum does with timestamps - if his Yesterday at 01.35 predates your Yesterday at 21.00 - but that silent edit has given the tight-lipped answer; emsr2d2 was right :)

Okay, sorry yes that word was "son". I thought you would understand this automatically once I had done the editing(I hope this sentence is correct, is it?).

What is the problem with getting it right? You've edited it to read 'own'.

Has tufguy's account been taken out of moderation? If not, he does not have access to the Thank and Like buttons (as I understand it).

So, I have to open a new thread if I want to make changes to an existing thread? I will have to write each and everything again? Will you delete my old post once I have done it?

No, you don't have to start a new thread. You need to write a new post/response to the thread you started.
