    Question subject and verb concord

please I am wondering which one of these sentences is correct and why..

Beautiful breasts are a dream of many women.

Beautiful breasts is a dream of many women.

Although breasts are plural, I prefer the second sentence, because I think of breasts like they are one thing.. But I m not sure it is right.
    Thank you for your answer.

    Re: subject and verb concord

(I'm not going to comment on whether I think this is a worthwhile thing to spend time wishing for.)

The grammatical subject of the sentence is "beautiful breasts" so it requires the plural form of the verb.

Many people struggle with ideas like "The beaches are the thing I like best about this island" because you have "are" linking a plural subject and a singular complement.

However, your sentence is hardly natural. Few women I know dream about beautiful breasts. Perhaps some of them would like to have beautiful breasts and would think that having such breasts (whatever that means) to be a dream come true.

Having beautiful breasts is a dream for many women.
Many women dream of having beautiful breasts.

In the meantime, resist the idea of thinking of breasts as "one thing." "A great rack is appreciated by many men" is singular. If you must.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
