    awkward phrase

I found the following in a job description:
Maintains high level of awareness of (and is conversational about) Atlanta-area non-profits . . .
    Shouldn't this read . . .(and is conversant with) . . .?

I would use your version and find conversational about awkward.

    Welcome to the forum, Sharyn.

Please note that a better title would have been Maintains high level of awareness ...

    Re: awkward phrase

I wouldn't bring it up in the interview, if you're the one looking for a job.

    Re: awkward phrase

It does sound like a job description on a CV/resume to me, rather than an advert.
