British English abbreviations

Most of those abbreviations would be common to other variants, and there would be thousands of them. What area are you interested in?

I believe the abbreviation of Mount is Mt in British English, and Mt. in American English. Also, Mr is British English, while Mr. is American English. I would like to know where I can find a list of abbreviations where the American will put a full stop but the British will have no full stop.

The examples you have given are of differences in punctuation, not of abbreviation. Both use "Mr". The only difference is whether or not they put a full stop after it. Many years ago, British English used the full stop after "Mr/Mrs/Ms" but, as a general rule, now we don't.

In BrE, we are supposed to put the full stop after an abbreviation that does not end with the last letter of the word:
Prof. (Professor)
Rev. (Reverend)
When it ends with the last letter, we don't use a full stop:
Mr (Mister)
Dr (Doctor)

However, this rule is often broken/ignored in BrE. Indeed, it was only when I became a teacher that I learned of its existence- I went through school and university without knowing it. I follow it now, and it is easy to do so- simply look at the last letter and BrE pedants will approve of your choice. :-D
