The sun and the moon are "the/no article" lamps of heaven.

    This is not my homework.

Kindly tell me if "the" is necessary in the sentence "The sun and the moon are the lamps of heaven"? I believe that the is necessary due to following reasons.
1:- Due toe construction "the ...of the........"
2:- Lamps being specified as the lamps of heaven, the should be used as an article of definite form.

    Thank you in advance.

Use "the" if you consider them to be the only "lamps of heaven". If, however, you also consider the stars to be "lamps of heaven"" don't use the article.

Just to clarify, bhaisahab is referring to the underlined "the" in post #1.

Sahil Dhankhar, for the second time in ten minutes, there is no need to write a new post to say "Thank you". Click on the "Thank" button if you wish to indicate your appreciation for someone's response.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
