The key that makes a steamed stuffed bun delicious is ...

    1. The key that makes a steamed stuffed bun delicious is that it is rich in juicy fillings.

    2. The key to a tasty steamed stuffed bun is/lies in its juicy fillings.

→I wrote the first sentence, but my teacher said that there's something wrong with it, and she recommended me to write such a sentence like the second one. Could anyone please tell me what's wrong with my first sentence? And, is the second sentence really correct? I think that without "to make something delicious" wound be a little weak in meaning and not vivid enough. Thanks!

Your teacher is right. #1 is not natural and unnecessarily wordy.

'The key to ...' is colloquial; 'The key that makes ...'is not.

You could say the key to making a tasty/delicious steamed bun, or to making a steamed bun tasty/delicious, but dropping them into your teacher's sentence will produce a better result than dropping them into the original sentence .
