    Dear teachers,

    Please read the following sentence:
    The sreet was open its entire length and width.
    The correct word should be "was opening" or "opened". Is that right?

    No, it's not right. There's no need to change the tense. It's a strange sentence though.

    Do you mean street? If so, I'd say it's enough to say that it was open.
