    Some students like singing, but others don't.

    Some students like singing, but ______ don't.
    (A) others (B) the others (C) another (D) the other
    The above is a test qustion designed by a Taiwanese teacher of English. It answer is option A. Is option B also acceptable?
    I need native speakers' help.

    B would be correct if the sentence was "Some of the students like singing, but ___ don't."
    The best answer is A.
