    Explore vs Examine

I would really appreciate it if you could help me understand the meaning of 'explore' in detail.

To my knowledge, the word 'explore' means, 'to find out about something that you are not familiar with'. However, 'examine' means, 'to find out more about something that you can already see or have some knowledge about it'.

What does exploring your fear mean?
    Does this mean:
    A) To examine the fear you already know you have.
    B) To find out what kind of fear you have.

Thank you for help and continuous education.

    Re: Explore vs Examine

It could mean either of those. 'Explore' is often used in the social sciences to mean 'examine', or to treat as a subject of inquiry.
I think your definitions are too limited.
