    Which is better ' types of transport' or 'means of transport' ?

    Both are fine in my opinion. You can also say "modes of transport".
    Translator, editor and TESOL certificate holder, but not a teacher.

    They don't necessarily mean the same thing.
    e.g.,
    There are two types of transport in my country - public and private.
    Bikes are once more becoming popular as a means of transport.
