    You and I both are junior high school students. (quoted from a grammar quiz)

    Is the above sentence acceptable?

    In terms of grammar, no.

    The normal position of both in sentences where a form of be is used is this:
    You and I are both...

    It's also acceptable to put 'both' at the beginning:
