A great dynamism in the number of...

I am doubting of this sentence in English: "great dynamism in the number of applicants" (for instance) to express an increase or more rapid growth in something. Is it correct in English?

You can have a doubt about a sentence. You can also be doubtful about a sentence; you can be full of doubts about a text.
