Can bread be used as a countable noun?

    Re: One Bread, One Cup

It can, but only normally with the meaning 'type of bread'.

Its use in that song and the 'One bread, one cup' programme is unusual. Don't copy it.

You could use bread in the plural in a phrase like the various breads of the world, and you could write naan is a bread typical of Indian cuisine, but you can't normally say "one bread".
    I am not a teacher.

    Re: One Bread, One Cup

It's a communion song. The one bread and one cup is the Body of Christ, as understood by Catholics. All who partake, across time and space are partaking of one unified thing. It's understood spiritually.

This is not a normal use of "bread."
