    He's gained popularity ever since he went to/visited Paris.
    He's gained popularity ever since he's been to Paris.
    He gained popularity after he visited Paris.
    It was not until he visited Paris that he became famous.
    It was not until he visited Paris that he's become famous.
    He became famous after he visited Paris.
