    tall and strong men

    Which are correct:
    1) She likes tall strong men.
    2) She likes tall, strong men.
    3) She likes tall and strong men.
    4) She likes tall or strong men.

    I don't think '1' works.

    I think '2' is unambiguous.
'3' seems ambiguous to me. Does she like tall men and also strong men or does she like men who are both tall and strong?

'4' seems to be technically ambiguous.
4a) She likes men who are either tall or strong.
4b) She likes either tall men or strong men. (The speaker does not know which)

I doubt that anyone would use '4' for the meaning '4a' though.

    Is my analysis correct?

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

    Re: tall and strong men

Only 2, 4a, and 4b are natural sentences.

    Unlikely, but not impossible.
