    Hello,

There is an exercise which it seems that I did it wrong, but I don't know why my answer is wrong! would you please help me about it?

    The exercise:

If we (repair, not) ________ the roof last summer, the living room (be) ______ wet now.

    My answer:

If we had not repaired the roof last summer, the living room was wet now.
    Answer key's answer:

If we had not repaired the roof last summer, the living room would be wet now.
    Regards.

Your answer is ungrammatical. The answer key is correct.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”
