Do you switch off your cellphone or turn off your cellphone?

I know it is a cellphone in the USA, and it is a mobile phone in the UK, so that's not the question. However, I am interested to know what it is in Australia, a cellphone or a mobile phone or something else?

    Now the main question is

"Do you switch off your cellphone?" or "Do you turn off your cellphone?"

    Regards

    I "turn off".
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

I so rarely do it that I am not 100% sure. I think I switch it off.

    I have a landline. I hang up.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

I'd probably use "turn off," but either phrase is acceptable.

Re: Do you switch off your cellphone or turn off your cellphone?

I would only turn off my cell phone, possibly while mumbling to myself that cell phone is two words.

Most likely though, I'd turn off my phone. "Cell" has become redundant.

They have a different time zone. They are 6 hours ahead of Pakistan, and 11 hours ahead of GMT. I hope to hear from them as well.

I turn off my phone and laptop even though the phone thinks I switch off and the computer thinks I shut down.
