    punctuation for which/that is why

    Hi,

    *self-made*

1-I had to learn English; which is why, I went to England.
2-I had to learn English; which is why I went to England.
3-I had to learn English, which is why I went to England.

4-I had to learn English; that is why, I went to England.
5-I had to learn English; that is why I went to England.
6-I had to learn English, that is why I went to England.

I cannot decide which punctuation is OK. I think all are OK but cannot make sure of that.

    Thanks.

Those two are correctly punctuated. No comma is required after 'why'.

'Which' in no.3 is a non-defining relative pronoun; a comma is required before this.
'That' in no.3 is not functioning as a relative pronoun; something stronger than a comma is needed - a semi-colon or a full stop.
