    seemed obvious to do

    Are these sentences correct:

    1) That seemed obvious to do.
    2) To do that seemed obvious.
    3) Doing that seemed obvious.


    4) That was obvious to do.
    5) To do that was obvious.
    6) Doing that was obvious.


    The first three are supposed to have the same meaning and the second three are supposed to have the same meaning.

    1 and 4 seem to mean that it was easy to do.

    The others seem to mean that the taking of the action, expressed by 'do', was in itself evident.

    As usual, they are all open to interpretation.

    They're all grammatically correct but I find them all somewhat unnatural. I would invariably use "That was the obvious thing to do".
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
